Your day begins with an awesome friend at the market. Then, add a drive for some lunch. After which, add the restaurant, a freshly baked roll and fried shrimp with fries. Then you have to breathe a little. Finally, add the biggest kick ass piece of coconut cream pie. Then go home and put on stretchy pants and wait until tomorrow to eat.
A secret vice – the roll
When you are able to bring a friend to a new restaurant they have never been to, it’s always pleasant to see their enjoyment as they start eating. But, Cora was not the only one enjoying her white bread roll. It arrived at the table, not too long after we ordered our main meals and as soon as I took it in my hand, I felt it was still warm. I hurry to put the butter on that soft roll. I have to admit I ate it pretty fast, since it was so good. And then, we started to plot, how we could get our hands on more, since our waitress did say that customers were asking to buy extra, but at this time their space (in the kitchen area) couldn’t take it. So, we know that buying extra to bring home was not possible, so maybe stealing from another table could be a possibility. “Stay away from my roll”! Many laughs later, we left without any extra rolls, but many road trips to La Sagouine in Bouctouche, New Brunswick will be happening in a near future. Jeanne Mance
